Telamon Ready to Assist Communities with Immigration Legal Services
November 21, 2014
Telamon Corporation provides low cost legal services and counseling for immigrants in Michigan and North Carolina.
As USCIS releases new deferred action benefits for eligible immigrants, Telamon will provide outreach and educational workshops to communities in partnership with other legal services providers, as well as legal counseling services for immigrants and their families.
How to prepare for and access services in your community
Telamon recommends that immigrant families follow these steps when they consider inquiring about potential immigration benefits including the plans announced by President Obama.
- Only talk to immigration attorneys (http://www.ailalawyer.com/) or accredited BIA representatives http://www.justice.gov/eoir/ra/raroster.htm) about your immigration status and any opportunity under the federal announcement.
- Don’t pay money to anyone who promises to provide you with special advantages or short cuts to immigration benefits.
- Notarios are not licensed attorneys nor accredited legal representatives anywhere in the United States. It is illegal for them to provide legal advice to anyone.
