Telamon Corporation to Open a New Early Head Start Program in East Tennessee
April 2, 2015
Telamon Corporation, a provider of early childhood education in Tennessee for almost 20 years, is currently accepting applications for enrollment in a new Early Head Start program. Telamon recently received a grant from the Office of Head Start to provide services to 72 infants and toddlers. The new program will be focused on low-income families with infants and toddlers ages six weeks to three years and pregnant women. Services will be provided at centers located in Bulls Gap, Elizabethton, and Unicoi. Families living in Greene, Carter, Unicoi, Hawkins, Hamblen, and Washington Counties are encouraged to apply. Services are free.
Telamon’s Early Head Start program consists of free childcare offered Monday through Friday, 8 am to 2 pm. Children are engaged in individualized developmentally appropriate activities to promote learning and school readiness. Telamon believes parents are the primary educators of their children. The program encourages parents to be actively engaged in their child’s education both at the center and at home. The new Early Head Start program is open to all low-income families in the service area. For more information, contact Silvia at (423) 743-2028.
