Is Your Downed Wire “Hot” or Not?
Salisbury, Md. - February 23, 2016 - Local community organizations will host the “Wicomico Community Access to Resources Expo” (CARE), on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the One-Stop Job Market in Salisbury, MD, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The free event welcomes residents of Wicomico and surrounding counties to meet with representatives from local organizations to learn about their programs and services available to the public. Come learn about assistance with home heating and utility-bills, early childhood education, adult day care, free tax preparation, services for veterans, food assistance, job training, and other services from over 20 local service/resource providers, including utility companies.
Wicomico CARE will also feature a half-hour “Hot Line” demonstration sponsored by Choptank Electric. During this demonstration professionals will come out and demonstrate what would happen if you touch a downed live electrical wire. They will also talk about how to report downed wires. The demonstration will start outside the building at the top of every hour.
