TRC Anderson Head Start To Hold Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Open House

ANDERSON, Ind. - Transition Resources Corporation is pleased to announce that it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at its new location for its TRC Anderson Head Start Center. The celebration is set for Friday, April 4th with the ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at 2:30 p.m. followed by the open house to be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The recently renovated facility serving preschool children is located at 812 W. 13th Street in Anderson, Indiana.
“We’re so pleased to introduce our new facility to the Anderson community. To be able to provide our comprehensive early childhood education program to preschoolers in this beautiful new facility is absolutely terrific,” said Kay Gordon, State Director for TRC. “The ribbon cutting ceremony for TRC Anderson Head Start marks the beginning of a new era for early childhood education in Anderson.”
Anderson Mayor, Kevin Smith is scheduled to be on hand to offer a few remarks regarding the new Center and to assist TRC Head Start students in the ribbon cutting.
“We’re delighted that Mayor Smith has agreed to join our celebration. Our dream of renovating and moving into this facility has finally come about through the determined efforts of our staff and the support of the community and City of Anderson,” said Shelly Truxall, TRC Anderson Head Start Site Manager.
Other distinguished guests invited to the event include State Senator Tim Lanane, State Representative Terri Austin, Suzanne Orozco, Executive Director and Diane Swift, Deputy Executive Director of Transition Resources/Telamon Corporation.
The Center currently serves 260 children ages 3- 5 years in the 15,000 square foot building. The Center offers 8 preschool classrooms, a state of the art kitchen, staff offices, a teacher resource room, employee lunch room and a conference room. Two outdoor play areas offer children plenty of space to play on the property. Pridemark Construction, Inc. was the General Contractor for the $550,000 renovation project and krM Architecture provided architectural services. Funding for the project was provided by the Office of Head Start, an office of the Administration for Children and Families. The building is the former home of the New Hope Family Life Center.
