TRC Head Start Accepting Applications for Early Head Start and Six Hour Expanded Head Start in Delaware County

MUNCIE, Ind. - Transition Resources Corporation Early Head Start and Head Start is accepting applications for both its Center Based and Home Based programs. Early Head Start (EHS) serves pregnant moms and children ages 0-3. EHS Center Based services are conducted Monday-Friday at the Head Start site located at 3900 E. Wysor Street, as well as in partnership with Huffer Memorial Children’s Center, Teddy Bear Child Care Center, Destiny Child Care and United Day Care Center. EHS Home Based services are provided on a weekly basis to families in their homes anywhere within Delaware County.
Head Start preschool is for children ages 3-5. Head Start preschool is center based and offered at the Wysor Street location, as well as limited placement at Sutton and Storer Elementary Schools. During this program year, Head Start has expanded several of its 4-5 year old classes to 6 hour sessions. Six hour sessions will be held Monday-Friday. Both the Early Head Start and Head Start programs also offer wrap-around services for those children requiring care beyond normal school hours. Those services may be paid with Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers or through private pay.
To qualify for Head Start services, families must meet Federal poverty guidelines. Foster children or those families receiving TANF, SSI or who are homeless also qualify. Disability and special health needs services are provided. Proof of the child’s birth and family income verification are needed to apply.
