TRC Head Start Accepting Applications for Early Head Start and Expanded 6 Hour Head Start in Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. - Transition Resources Corporation Early Head Start and Head Start is accepting applications for both its Center Based and Home Based programs. Early Head Start (EHS) serves pregnant moms and children ages 0-3. EHS Center Based services are conducted Monday-Friday at the Head Start site located at 812 W. 13th Street, Anderson, at the IMPACT Center, 630 Nichol Avenue, Anderson and at the D26 Career Campus, 326 W. 38th Street, Anderson. Home Based services are provided on a weekly basis to families in their homes anywhere within Madison County.
Head Start preschool is for children ages 3-5. Head Start preschool is center based and offered at the 13th Street and W. 38th Street locations. Head Start has expanded its class hours and is now offering a 6 hour, Monday-Friday option for 4-5 year old children. Both the Early Head Start and Head Start programs also offer wrap-around services for those children requiring care beyond normal school hours. Those services may be paid with Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers or through private pay.
To qualify for Head Start services, families must meet Federal poverty guidelines. Foster children or those families receiving TANF, SSI or who are homeless also qualify. Disability and special health needs services are provided. Proof of the child’s birth and family income verification are needed to apply. Early Head Start and Head Start is a no cost federally funded comprehensive early childhood education program serving children 0 – 5 years and their families.
