Telamon Corporation Announces New Leadership for Tennessee Head Start Programs
Telamon Corporation, a provider of early childhood education in Tennessee for almost 20 years, is proud to announce Leanne Wilburn as the new State Head Start Director. Mrs. Wilburn has served as the State Education Coordinator for Telamon since 2009. With more than 16 years of experience with Head Start programs, Mrs. Wilburn has extensive knowledge and experience in early childhood education and providing services to children with disabilities.
A non-profit serving those in need for more than 50 years, Telamon Corporation operates Migrant and Seasonal Head Start and Early Head Start programs in 11 counties, providing services to low-income families in rural East Tennessee. Funded by the federal Office of Head Start, these programs serve 312 children between the ages of six weeks and five years in Tennessee. Children are engaged in individualized, developmentally appropriate activities to promote learning and school readiness. Parents and families receive coaching and support to become actively engaged in their child’s education both at the center and at home.
